Welcome to Hot Pl8z & TableScapes. So glad you stopped by. Let the party begin. I’d like to share my first blog with you, so , grab a cup of coffee and a piece of chocolate and join in the fun. I’ve had a dream for a long time to entertain like all the other dish diva’s and fairy-blog-mothers out there in blog land. I will admit, I am a bit of a dishaholic, this I inherited from my mother, my sister has it too. Sometimes, my creative juices go a little overboard but, if I can inspire, motivate and encourage you in some way, I have achieved my goal.
How do you like your coffee, cream or sugar? Do you like milk chocolate or dark chocolate?
BEHOLD, THE POWER OF COFFEE
I chose the colors caramel, milk chocolate, mocha, amber and cream. These I consider warm colors.
Decorating a table with ribbon is a great way to inject color and texture without a lot of expense. (ribbon is a weakness of mine too….ish)
A vanilla candle in a vase of coffee beans release a scent even if the candle is unlit.
COFFEE IS ON, GRAB A CUP!
Amber takes on a honey tone when put with browns and creams.
MEN, CHOCOLATE AND COFFEE ARE ALL BETTER RICH! (just kidding)
I love to use picture frames on tablescapes, so versatile. Great for menu’s, place cards for guest names and identifying your menu or food item. Dry erase and chalk board are very popular right now. The frame sizes and possibilities are endless.
MY TWO GOALS TODAY WERE TO GET OUT OF BED AND DRINK COFFEE…SO FAR I’M A SUCCESS!
The vintage dishes from the 1960’s are called brown drip and some were made by Hull and McCoy. The colors are perfect and remind me of coffee and creamer.
I SUFFER FROM OCD, OBSESSIVE COFFEE DISORDER, I’M AFRAID THERE IS NO CURE.
Coffee and chocolate are at the top of my favorites and is warm and comforting. Instead of coffee beans scattered in plate, chocolate morsels (mini candy kisses) would also be fun. 
IF I DON’T FIND A POT OF GOLD TODAY, I’LL SETTLE FOR A POT OF COFFEE.
The silverware I chose was the perfect color and texture to fit the theme.
PROCAFFEINATING: THE TENDENCY TO NOT START ANYTHING UNTIL YOU’VE HAD A CUP OF COFFEE.
The gold roses hang on the corner of an old mirror. When mixed with this color scheme, it really blends with the cream and caramel tones.
Coffee in my hand, big girl panties pulled up, sparkle in my eye and a smile on my face…yep I’d say I’m ready for the day …bring it on!!!
I never thought that coffee could be displayed so beautifully. And I’m in love with the center piece!

Lovely tablescape idea. Using the coffee theme is quite creative and fun! The beads surrounding the plates is wonderful. Love the picture frame, in fact, the whole look, including the centerpiece. come and visit and check out my tablescapes as well.
Thanks for stopping by….The placemats are beaded garland around the gold chargers that I purchased from Hobby Lobby after Christmas on sale for 80 percent off. You can do anything you set your mind to, just start with an inspiration piece that you love and build on it. It could be a color or even a pretty paper napkin, I promise you will surprise yourself. Have fun with it, there is no right or wrong. Keep in touch. Janice

Thank you so much. I’ve had had them for years, all I did was add the ribbon. Bought it at a little store in Lake City, Florida, that has closed down. Wish I could send you a dozen of them and a thermos of hot coffee. Oh yeah, and chocolates too. Keep warm and have a great day.

Love the colors…so neat to see my dishes that I purchased from Kmart in the early 60’s used in such a creative way. Janice, so glad you were able to find more pieces to add to the set….yard sales are GREAT! Coffee and chocolate are certainly 2 of my favorite things…love that the coffee beans smell good even if candle isn’t lit. It is fantastic that you are finally doing what we have all been telling you to do for so long…sharing your gift of creating beautiful tablescapes.
Oh, all I can say is those of you who view my sister’s blog is really in for a treat. I’ve always known she’s had a true God given talent….I’d call it “Janice’s Table Art” ! I can only watch in “Awe”.. Oh Yeah, as far as this “family disease” of the dish fetish, well I knew I was in trouble when I could relate to my moms famous words “I’ve never met a Bowl I didn’t like”. To you Janice….
