THE O’LANTERN’S

The latest house built in the neighborhood belongs to the O’Lantern’s. Everyone calls them Jack and Jill. They have a pumpkin patch of kids. They are originally from Jacksonville. The family pets are Jackson the jackrabbit, a jackalope named Jackard, a cat named Jacky and a dog named Jacklyn.

Mr. Jack O’Lantern hit the jackpot a long time ago. He is a jack of all trades. He invented applejacks, crackerjacks, the carjack, the jackhammer and the jackstand. When he was a lumberjack, the jackknife he used about put him in a straight jacket.

The family eats pumpkin spice on everything, even the jackfruit they grow in the back yard. They all love scary stories, for example, “Peter, Peter the Pumpkin Eater”, “Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween”, “Grumpy Pumpkin”,  “Smashless Pumpkins”, ”Gourd Head”, “Pumpkin Chunkin”,  “Medieval Pumpkin”, “Nightmare on Pumpkin Street” and “Pumpkin Recipes 101.”

The pumpkin stand is just a little side job the kids love to do. I think you will enjoy Mr. and Mrs. O’Lanterns open house. Kick off your shoes and stay awhile.

PUMPKIN AND SPICE AND EVERYTHING NICE, THAT’S WHAT FALL IS MADE OF.

I love it!!! Is that awning over the pumpkin patch sign something you leave up all the time? Ive never seen anything like that. I really like it!

The rusty galvanized roofing is recycled from an old barn that used to be on our property. I was out voted by the family, and they won to keep it. It has become a fun challenge, and really sets the mood for the themes.

This reminds me of a New England Fall with the leaves changing and all the beautiful colors. I didn’t have to drive for several hours to see fall this year, I just had to take a short drive down to my friends house and visit with the O’Lanterns!

  • Twinda says:

The O’Lantern’s certainly live in pumpkin heaven. I really love the way the colors and shapes of pumpkins flow from one end of the room to the other. This kitchen is a perfect showcase for 100+ pumpkins. The groupings of unusual colors like blue, white and silver pumpkins are fabulous. I would love to live in this “patch”.
