UNDER THE BIG TOP
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages…step right up. My kitchen has lots of gold, stars, clowns, popcorn, peanuts and bling, just like the circus.
The table represents the ringmaster, with his tuxedo and tails, his bow tie and top hat.
I can’t forget his mustache on the straws.
The inspiration started with the ribbon, red and teal.
I knew I wanted to incorporate stars…lots of stars.
CLOWNING AROUND
What is a circus without a clown? I found this swimming clown years ago at a garage sale. He has a vintage feel.
He is “clowning around” over the kitchen island, doing a high dive.
COME ONE COME ALL
For the popcorn stand, I used “styrofoam popcorn” for display only, although….hummmmm….no calories.
THREE RING CIRCUS
The concession stand is ready for the “Greatest Show on Earth.” Can’t you smell the corn dogs, mustard and ketchup?
The string of lights are randomly hung and give off a beautiful color at night.
CLOWN NOSES
On the mantel is a clown painting that sets the mood. I’ve given him three extra noses, shinny, glittery and satin. (ornaments)
Fun items acquired over the years.
Scrapbook paper is used as a doily. A star cookie cutter for fun and a napkin folded into a bow tie.
Extra cupcake supplies are kept in a colorful tin.
More stars and gold in the kitchen window sill. A gold scarf was used to tie the colors together and bring the eye up.
The ferris wheel (EBAY) holds peanuts in paper cupcake wrappers and the spoon rest is another treasure found at a garage sale.
This merry-go-round carousel is a fun item that adds to the theme.
Jewelry can be used in unexpected places and displayed for everyone to enjoy.
The tiger is jumping thru the ring of fire (bandanas), wearing his head dress. (scrapbook embellishment)
Marshmallow circus peanuts for the elephants, or kids, OK…me!
The peppermint stripes represent the red and white stripes on the “Big Top” tent.
The circus leaves without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when tomorrow it is not.
ALL CIRCUS ACTS WELCOME
This is no “one man circus”, I want to thank my wonderful husband, daughter and all my family and friends for making my blog a reality. I love you.
Keep the magic and wonderment of childhood alive forever in the “Greatest Show on earth.”
